Barrow Street

In 1994, we started organizing reading events and related outreach activities out of the Greenwich House Community Center and Music School in Greenwich Village, NYC.

Since we became incorporated as a 501c3 nonprofit in 1998, we’ve published a biannual and now annual literary journal still housed in NYC, and more than 55 poetry books with the assistance of PhD students and undergraduate interns at the University of Rhode Island, in Kingston, RI.

In 2023, Barrow Street Books will launch a prose series that also plans to publish memoir, creative nonfiction, and shorter poetic fiction.
